Erie, PA —From its maiden voyage in 2011 to the close of its 2013 travel season, the Eriez® Orange University® Mobile Training and Education Center logged more than 100,000 miles on the road, visiting over 1,000 customers’ facilities all over North America to deliver hands-on learning and training opportunities. The training vehicle is currently in the midst of its 2014 tour.

STLE 2015 Abstract Deadline Extended to October 17

The deadline for submitting abstracts for STLE 2015 in Dallas has been extended from October 1st to October 17th. Submissions have been running parallel to 2014’s record, but we have received numerous requests for more time to accommodate some special programs being developed for 2015. Therefore the deadline is being extended to 11:59 pm Eastern time on Friday, October 17th, after which the site will remain open to accept abstracts for the waitlist.

EP Additives: Regulatory Updates of Chlorinated Paraffins

This month's Issue of TLT has two good reasons for you to read it. This issue includes a detailed report on the regulatory status of EP additives and alternatives. A summary of the key concepts include: There are no restrictions on the use of MCCP and LCCP chlorinated paraffins though they continue to be under regulatory assessment. A newly commercialized type of vLCCP is available and is not currently under regulatory assessment.

Licking the Foam Problem

The latest news on the battle with foam comes from QualiChem. In a Rhoades Communication Press Release (9/3/2014), QualiChem announced it has published a White Paper on new-technology no-foam coolants for high-pressure applications. The White Paper, Next Generation No Foam Technology Solves Production Problems, discusses the causes and effects of coolant foaming, and presents a case study in support.
